About DooGuard
Founder & CEO Quincy Guinyard Sr. is the mastermind behind DooGuard. The brilliance of the DooGuard headrag was created with hope and need to see a brighter future. In 2007, Quincy was incarcerated and about to be released from prison when he came up with the idea of a durag that prevents forehead lines. After being in and out of the legal system for over 15 years, Quincy prayed for a second chance, and that's when the creation of a DooGuard was born.
Quincy wore durags, but would add tissue along the lining at the edge to prevent the dark marks and lines on the forehead. He spent hours desperately researching various durag styles, trying to find something that was comparable to what he had envisioned. After an unsuccessful search, Quincy decided to sketch a design, create a prototype, and test it amongst peers. The feedback from initial testers was so positive as the headrag was durable, comfortable, enhanced the hairwaves, and left no lasting forehead indentations or headaches.
At that moment, Quincy, set out to produce a headrag that would later become a patented item, the DooGuard. The headrag would be fashionable and versatile for everyday use for men and women. Since 2010 Dooguard has been worn by many durag wearers including celebrities and has been purchased in over 20 states.
